Coffee Convenience

It’s no secret that I love my coffee and lattes, so it should come as no surprise that I love my coffee and espresso makers!  I’ve shared numerous cups of joe with my followers on instagram and facebook to which I get a lot of the same questions about the machine I have or how I make my latte’s and coffee at home.

I have had a Keurig coffee maker about 8 years now.  My first Keurig machine stopped working and we recently bought the 2.0 model.  It works great for making a traditional cup of coffee.  Most mornings I like to drink 2 “regular” cups of coffee with just a splash of french vanilla coffee creamer.

Then, in the afternoon, when I need a caffeine boost, I like to make myself a latte. This expresso machine has been life-changing!  I’d had my eye on it for quite some time and my husband, bless his heart, surprised me with it on Christmas morning!  I originally had just wanted to purchase this expresso maker with a separate milk frother, but once I fond this one, I knew there was so changing my mind!

nespresso delonghi espresso machine

I love how you can make a variety of drinks with the nespresso delonghi and that it has a self-cleaning function so it’s really convenient to use. It’s programable so you can set your desired strength for the espresso and desired amount of milk for each type of drink.  I use it mostly for lattes, and it took no time to get the milk to espresso ratio just right to make the perfect latte.  I like to add one pump of vanilla syrup in my latte, as well.  It can also make iced lattes, macchiatos, or just about anything that involves espresso and frothed milk.  It is also convenient in that it has a self-cleaning option to clean out the milk inside the reusable milk container so it doesn’t go bad.  All you have to do is turn the knob to “clean” once your drink has been made.  It filters water through the pump and then when it’s done, you turn the knob back to your desired amount of “froth” and put the unused milk container back in the refrigerator until you’re ready to make another drink!

Other than loving it for the convenience of being able to make my own drinks and saving a ton of money on expensive lattes from Starbucks, it’s nice to have something to offer to our guests who may want more than just a traditional cup of coffee!

I purchase the espresso pods from Amazon (duh! like everything else I buy)! This option has a variety of strengths and it was the best price option as far as price-per-pod I could find!

Friday and Fall are my favorite “F” words!  Cheers to the end of the workweek, and beginning of the weekend!  And all God’s people said, “Amen”!!

If you missed this weeks posts you can find them here and here!

I spent yesterday morning at Loyd’s Pumpkin Patch in Ashland, MO with my daughter and her preschool class.  It wasn’t snowing, but it might as well have been for as cold as we all were!  This good ‘ol Missouri weather 😉 !  Undoubtably, we still had a fabulous time picking a pumpkin, riding the hayride, petting the farm animals, milking a cow, and playing in the corn pit! She and I enjoyed a girls lunch at Panera after with some warm soup and mac n’ cheese! She made the comment afterwards, “Momma, we need to do this everyday!”

I (finally) got my hair cut and colored last weekend and let me tell you, it feels glorious!  There is just something about a fresh new “do” that make me feel rejuvenated and overall better about myself and life in general.  I’ve said before that a little damage from the bleach does my hair some good since I have naturally oily hair.  The bleach gives me some additional volume and helps hold it’s style.

Before and After

This is Us has been the one and only show I religiously watch on a weekly basis.  My family knows that if Tuesday nights are momma’s nights to have 1 hour of uninterrupted (haha yea right) tv time!  I do love it and I’m obviously going to keep watching but I am still frustrated with the fact that we (the viewers) STILL do not know how Jack died!

During my drive to and from my hometown, I like to listen to a podcast or Audiobook.  I just started reading (aka listening to…. who has time to sit down and read anymore?)  this book and I recently purchased this audiobook on Audible once I’m done with my current one- I’ve heard lots of great reviews!!

Yaaay for 1k followers!!  On Wednesday, I reached the 1000 followers milestone on Instagram and decided to do a giveaway.  I teamed up with Grand Marceline Coffee to give 1 lucky follower a FREE 8 oz signature blend coffee!  The drawing will be Sunday evening!

We are having our annual Fall family pictures on Saturday.  I pray the kids will be in a good mood and they turn out as good as last years!  Also praying our outfits arrive in the mail today or I’m going to have to make an emergency trip to the Mall which I may have to do anyways because I picked out flannel button down shirts, sweaters, and scarves and yet the weather is supposed to be 86 degrees….. after it was just 40 degrees on Thursday!

I ordered this striped peplum top and and this ruffle cutout tee from Nordstrom…. I mean, who can resist a sale?

That is all!  Have a great day and weekend!

Happy Friday Folks!  Is it just me, or did this week seem to fly by?  We’ve had one of those busy weeks where we have something scheduled every day/night.

If you missed this weeks blog post you can read it here.  I typically do two posts a week, but the one that was scheduled for Thursday didn’t get posted due to a glitch on my site so I’m saving it for next week 🙂

My son had his ear tubes placed on Wednesday morning.  It was an early start to the day, but he did well and has been doing find since.

I am so proud of my daughter, who is now enrolled in a beginner’s gymnastics class rather than the preschool class she originally started in.  She is so good at gymnastics that the teacher decided it was time for her to move up with the 5 and 6 year olds (she is only 3) 🙂 #proudmomma

Thank Heavens This is Us is back on tv on Tuesday nights.  I rarely sit down to watch any tv at all, but I make it a point to record this series because it is so good and it’s nice to have an hour to myself after the kids go to bed!  I’m still dying to know how Jack dies… the suspense is killing me.

Last Saturday we attended the MU South Farm showcase field day with our good friends (practically family).  It was a perfect, Fall day and there was so many great activities for kids of all ages.  We were there for 4 hours and still didn’t get to see all there was to see or do.  Defiantly marking it on the calendar for next year.

Saturday, the kids and I are heading back to my hometown of Marceline.  I am in dire need of some hair maintenance so I’m really looking forward to a fresh cut and color!  My best friends daughter is also having a pool party for her 5th Birthday at the new swimming pool, which I have yet to see!

I’ve got my eye on these new tennis shoes.

Yesterday, I purchased this clip on ring light for my smart phone. I’ve heard a lot of good reviews on this type of artificial lighting.  Many beauty and makeup bloggers use them for their tutorials and such so I figured it would be worth a try.  Got to love Amazon!

Also, I found a great deal on my favorite Dr. Jart sheet mask.

I am getting very serious about trying eyelash extensions.  They’re so gosh darn pretty and I really want to try them, especially with our family pictures coming up.  My only reserve is that they will be a pain or feel too heavy and irritate my eyes.  I would love to hear any advice, suggestions, or comments on your experience and what to expect.

Cheers to Friday!  Have a good weekend!

Happy Friday and National Coffee Day to all my coffee lovin’ connoisseurs!  In case you didn’t already know…. TODAY is National Coffee Day!? Dare I say it is my favorite holiday?  I mean, what other holiday do I celebrate every single day?!  It’s the start to my every morning and the first thing I consume each day… But first, coffee, right?!

If you missed this weeks posts, you can catch up on them here and here!

Last Friday, my husband and I spent our anniversary weekend away, together, in Hermann and historic downtown St. Charles.  Though we didn’t have a set agenda, it was fun to just take it easy and make up our plans as we went.  First, we stopped at the Stone Hill Winery in Hermann.  We did some wine tasking (duh!), took a few photos, and went on a tour of the winery, which was super neat and I would highly recommend it if you’re in the area!  It was definitely one of the best winery tours I’ve ever attended.  So much history and absolutely beautiful scenery.

Next, we ventured East on I-70 to St. Charles where we enjoyed an delicious steak dinner at Lewis & Clark on the balcony.  I love the ambiance of sitting outside and enjoying drink and dinner under cafe lights at night.  Unbeknownst to us, Oktoberfest was going on in downtown St. Charles so it was extremely busy and it took us nearly 30 minutes to find a parking spot.  After dinner, we walked through what seemed like miles of venders and beer stands admiring the upbeat atmosphere and people watching (my favorite! Especially when there’s alcohol involved), and even enjoyed some live music at the miller light beer tent.  Oh, and yes, I drank an entire pint of Blue Moon!

The following morning we made our way back to the historic downtown area, once again, this time to do some shopping and a little more wine tasting!  We had all intentions of going on a bike ride down the Katy Trail, but it was a scorching 96 degrees that day, so we settled for some lunch at Hendrick’s BBQ instead!  It seemed like all we did, the entire trip was eat and drink either wine or beer!  It was a fun and much needed time away together.  I am definitely looking forward to the next adventure and excited for what the next 5 years has to hold for us and our family.

Halloween is just around the corner, so in my typical prepared and over planed fashion, I’m making my preparations now rather than last minute.  There are so many cute costumes out there and so many ideas, that I’m having a tough time deciding what to do.  Last year, we all dressed up as the Incredibles which was so fun, but also expensive.  So, do we all dress up again or do I just let the kids choose what they want to be and call it good?  Decisions, decisions…

I’m also still in need of a statement earring organizer.  I found this trinket earring tree that I may just have to purchase.  Not only is it cleaver, it’s cute and simple which is a win, win, win!

I’m definitely having my fair share of PSL’s lately.  I just can’t help but crave them, especially on these chillier Fall mornings.  If you haven’t tried the order ahead app from Starbucks, you must do so, especially on busy mornings when the drive-thru line is backed up for blocks and you’re crunched for time.  I just order and pay it, park, go in, grab it, and go.  That simple.  No standing in lines or waiting for it to be made.

Have a fabulous Friday!  Cheers to another delicious cup of coffee!

Happy Friday, indeed!  Today, is a very, very special day…

(If you missed this week’s posts, you can check them out here and here.)

Happy Anniversary to my husband, Aaron! Turns out, I love you a whole lot more than I originally planned!!!

Today is our 5 Year Wedding Anniversary!

FIVE short years have brought so much change and gone so, so fast!  I have said this before and I’ll say it again, I loved every single moment of our wedding day.   It was better than I could have ever imagined it to be and I wish I could relive that day, on this day, each and every year.

Though marriage is not easy and real life is tough, you continue to be the center of my world.  I am so thankful for you and the hard work you put forth to provide for not only me but our children as well.  You have my whole heart, then, now, and forever.  This life we have built is one I wouldn’t trade for anything.  And, though I may not tell you enough, today I proclaim my love for you, once again, in the deepest, most sincere, and heartfelt gratification.  Thank you for choosing me, putting up with me, admiring my weird ways, and loving me each and every day!

We were supposed to be on a beach in the Dominican right now, but unfortunately we had to cancel due to Hurricane Maria.  We are making lemonade out of lemons, however, and spending the weekend in St. Charles, Missouri enjoying the beautiful, historic downtown, wineries, and good food!

Short and simple for today… have a blessed weekend!
