Coffee Talk Ed. No. 8

is a Good Friday, indeed!  TGIF

The weather this week has been absolutely gorgeous.  It’s definitely got me wishing I was poolside with a margarita in hand (and now I want Mexican).

I went to Target (again) this week and I am in love with these earrings.

Sleep is very important to me, so when I was introduced to a new app this week that monitors and analyzes your sleep and wakes you in the lightest sleep phase, I had to check it out.  It’s called Sleep Cycle.  It has a built-in microphone to analyze your movements.  You set the alarm for what time you need up BUT if you’re in a light phase of sleeping prior to the alarm time, it will play a light sound to gradually wake you up (within the half-hour window you define) to rouse you gently rather than being yanked from your slumber at a specific minute.

Along with the app, I recently heard of the up and coming light therapy alarm clocks, which stimulates sunrise to mimic the early morning sun’s rays softly shining on your face to gently and gradually wake you up.  Very neat!  Said to help with seasonal depression, anxiety, menstrual cramps, and more!  Adding it to my wish list!

With warmer temps, I’m transitioning to iced coffee which is a refreshing alternative to my otherwise hot coffee!  While there are many different approaches to creating the perfect iced coffee, I usually just pour my traditional coffee with creamer into a tumbler over ice. However, after some recent pinterest-ing, I have GOT to try this perfect iced coffee recipe from the Pioneer Woman!

I’m excited for this weekend in particular because I get to spend it with my family.  Heading to KC after work today for a girls night with my daughter, niece, and sister, then to Marceline on Sunday for church and Easter dinner with my mom’s side of the family.  #familytime #familyiseverything

While it’s fun to decorate, hide, and hunt Easter eggs, it’s important to reflect and remember what the true meaning of Easter is all about and not to let the commercialization of this holiday overshadow the real reason we celebrate.  Jesus died for our sins.  He gave his life for us.  BUT….He lives!  He gives us eternal life.  Please take a moment to pause and say, “Thank You” for all He’s done and continues to bless us with.

Have a blessed weekend!
