My Family Favorite Chili Recipe

 

I adore chili in the Fall/Winter.  This slow cooker chili with black beans and corn is 100% scrumptious!  Aside from being hearty, healthy, and easy, it’s perfect for those cold Fall and Winter days.  I’ve been making this chili recipe for about 2 years now and each time I get a lot of compliments and requests for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Chili with Black Beans and Corn

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs of ground turkey or beef
  • 1 tbsp light olive oil
  • 2 cans of 16 oz black beans
  • 1, 32 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1, 15 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of frozen sweet corn
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • dash of tabasco sauce
  • 3 tsp chili powder
  • dash of allspice
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar

Optional topings:

  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • sour cream

Directions:

  • add olive oil, ground meat, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to a large skillet.
  • mix well and brown
  • transfer cooked meat into slow cooker
  • add in additional ingredients
  • cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4-5 hours
  • garnish with desired toppings
  • Serve and enjoy!
